Bulgaria Prime Minister Radev said two merchant vessels were struck by drones at about 0300 local time on Oct. 6 inside Bulgaria’s Black Sea exclusive economic zone. Both ships were damaged; one cargo vessel has sunk with crew unaccounted for, the other had 18 crew rescued and several injured. Radev described the attack as an unacceptable violation of international law and said the situation is making Black Sea navigation exceptionally difficult. Bulgarian authorities are conducting search-and-rescue operations in the area.
