According to the German business daily Handelsblatt, Germany and France are seeking further easing of their plans to phase out gasoline and diesel vehicles. Merz and Macron reached an agreement on the automotive industry, with France making concessions to Germany on phasing out gasoline and diesel vehicles, in exchange for Germany compromising on its requirement to "buy European products."
