Looking at the top 20 countries with the largest gold reserves, the United States, Germany, Italy, and France rank in the top four. After 23 consecutive months of competition, China's total gold reserves have approached those of France and Italy, ranking fifth. However, the proportion of gold in China's total reserves is relatively low compared to other countries and is below the average. (Data from the World Gold Council and central bank websites; except for China's data from September of this year and Lebanon's data from March of last year, data for other countries are from July to August.)
