An easterly jet is forecast to bring heavy rain to Hainan from the night of Oct.
7 into Oct. 8. Parts of Qionghai, Wanning, Qiongzhong and Tunchang are expected
to receive 100–150 mm; parts of Haikou, Wenchang, Ding'an, Chengmai, Baoting,
Lingshui and Sanya 50–100 mm; other areas 10–50 mm. Hainan Meteorological Bureau
issued a level-4 rainstorm warning at 16:30 on Oct. 7, 2026. Under the
provincial flood/wind/drought emergency plan, the provincial disaster reduction
and relief committee activated a level-4 flood and wind emergency response at
17:00 on Oct. 7.
