Japan Exchange Group said on Oct. 7 that TOPIX constituents will be rebalanced from the end of October, reducing the number of components by about 40% to 986. The revision reflects new eligibility criteria: inclusion will be determined by trading liquidity and free‑float market capitalization rather than the market segment where a company is listed (previously firms on the former First Section/main market were broadly included).
