Axios, citing U.S. officials, reports the Trump administration has accepted
talks between Saudi Arabia and Syria on deploying Syrian forces to Yemen and is
in principle not opposed. U.S. officials said Syrian troops could bolster
Saudi-backed operations against the Houthis while limiting deeper U.S. military
involvement, and could strengthen ties between Saudi Arabia and Syria. Two U.S.
officials said CENTCOM has participated in discussions on how Syrian forces
would be deployed to Yemen. The White House and CENTCOM declined to comment.
