RBNZ Governor Breman, nearing one year in office, is reshuffling the bank’s
senior leadership and creating two assistant governor roles — one responsible
for monetary policy and one for payments and cash operations. The move follows
an assistant governor’s announced departure in mid-December; Breman said he used
the vacancy to reassess the executive team and that strong leadership on
monetary policy, reserve management and payments/cash is critical to maintenance
market confidence in the financial system.
