According to CNN, senior officials at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Tuesday verbally instructed law enforcement officers nationwide to increase daily immigration arrests by 1,000, restoring the previously set target of 3,000 arrests per day. Despite unease among Republicans, ICE officers were instructed to ramp up daily immigration arrests as the midterm elections approach.
