ANTHROPIC launched Claude Haiku 5.5, targeting high-frequency, cost-sensitive tasks including summarization, classification, database queries, customer service and agent sub-tasks. The firm said Haiku 5.5 cuts average running costs roughly 75% versus Haiku 4.5. For requests up to 100k tokens, input and output prices are $0.1 and $0.5 per mln tokens, respectively. Haiku 5.5 introduces adjustable inference intensity. ANTHROPIC also halved Sonnet 5.5 cache-read pricing to $0.1 per mln tokens, saying this will reduce most agent-task costs by about 20%. Haiku 5.5 is available on Claude Platform, AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
