According to Rigzone, Yusuf Kibrahim, CEO of Syria's state-owned oil company, stated that with the return of foreign oil operators to Syria, the country plans to more than double its crude oil production over the next year, while also expanding its refining capacity. Kibrahim said the Syrian oil company plans to increase daily crude oil production from the current approximately 110,000 barrels to 250,000 barrels by the end of 2027 through investment in existing oil fields. If exploration is successful, the company also plans to further expand production by the end of 2030. However, achieving these goals depends on Syria's ability to raise sufficient funds, equipment, and expertise to repair oil fields and energy infrastructure damaged by more than a decade of war.
