The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) and the
Chinese Academy of Sciences held their 2026 annual cooperation meeting in
Beijing on the 8th and signed a series of institute–enterprise cooperation

In 2023, the two sides have initiated over 1,200 projects with cumulative
funding above 32 billion yuan; central SOE R&D spending has exceeded 1 trillion
yuan for four consecutive years. Cooperation focuses on energy development,
deep‑sea exploration, green transition and equipment manufacturing, while CAS
reports breakthroughs in AI, integrated circuits and bio‑breeding — steps cited
as strengthening industrial and supply‑chain security and supporting major
national programs including manned space and lunar/Mars exploration.
