A government economic outlook released with the 2027 budget on Friday said Malaysia’s national energy company projects Peninsular Malaysia electricity consumption will reach 148.66 TWh in 2027, versus 141.87 TWh in 2026, implying an annual increase of about 4.9%. The report said actual data‑centre power draw reached 710 MW in 2025, up from 405 MW in 2024.
