China's Defense Ministry said on Oct. 10 Senior Colonel Chen Xi that during
CHINA's recent state visit to the US the two leaders agreed their militaries
should maintain regular dialogue and improve crisis communication and prevention
mechanisms. Chen said the Chinese military is willing to work with the US to
implement that leaders' consensus by strengthening communication and dialogue,
expanding exchanges and cooperation, properly managing differences and promoting
a stable, healthy and sustainable military relationship to support a
constructive strategic-stability relationship based on respect, fairness and
equality.
