As of Oct 9, Guangzhou Baiyun border inspection reported the station processed
more than 100,000 inbound and outbound passenger and cargo flights year-to-date,
up 12.3% YoY and the fastest annual pace on record. Passenger services have
expanded: the airport now handles over 140 inbound/outbound passenger and cargo
routes covering 105 destinations. Year-to-date passenger flight movements total
about 81,000, up 16.7% YoY. This year Baiyun added more than 20 direct Guangzhou
routes to Belt and Road partner countries, including Astana, and launched two
intercontinental routes, further raising the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater
Bay Area's international hub capacity.
