In response to comments made by the US Treasury Secretary today, Central Bank Governor Abdel Nasser Hemmati stated: "As previously promised by the US Treasury Secretary, today is the last day of the two-week deadline for the collapse of the Iranian economy. However, Mr. Bessent did not address the outcome of his promise from two weeks ago, but instead began discussing the issue of Iran printing money. Economic realities should be assessed through measurable indicators, not judged based on political stances." He added, "The economic pressure is real, and the people can feel it. But whether the economy has collapsed cannot be proven by sanctions and threats, nor can it be determined by political statements."
