Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister stated: "We are currently at war, and no merchant ship may pass through the Strait of Hormuz without prior coordination with us. We are working to register our agreement with Oman regarding transit routes through the Strait of Hormuz with the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Even if we register with Oman in the IMO, it does not mean the Strait of Hormuz will be opened. The opening of the strait depends on the United States fulfilling its previous commitments, which it has suspended."
