Trump on Saturday named Katie Bailey, a former Republican congressional staffer, as director of the White House Office of Legislative Affairs. Bailey, deputy director since early summer, will oversee coordination of cabinet nominations and confirmations, congressional relations and advancement of White House legislative priorities; she replaces the prior director who left in September. Trump said Bailey helped advance confirmations for the homeland security secretary, the director of national intelligence and the labor secretary. Bailey previously worked for Senators Mike Braun and Tom Coburn and served on multiple congressional committees.

Yasmin Al-Eriani, executive director of knowledge production at the Sana'a Center, stated that the Houthis are attempting to exert "maximum pressure" on Saudi Arabia. However, they are also mobilizing their internal front in a very significant way, even shifting their operations from the west coast to Taiz and more densely populated areas. Further mobilization is likely; the Houthis are gaining tremendous momentum. They will likely continue to leverage this momentum to launch internal and cross-border attacks, thereby linking various battlefields and exerting economic and political pressure throughout the region. The Houthis are "provoking" Saudi Arabia, the United States, and other regional countries, which could potentially be drawn into the conflict.
