People's Daily said China and the EU should act as stabilizing, balancing trade
partners. Beijing said differences exist but can be managed by mutual respect,
equality and addressing each other's legitimate concerns, and that dialogue and
consultation are the preferred tools to control frictions. China said it is
willing to work with the EU, within WTO rules and while taking account of each
side's core interests, to resolve disputes, expand cooperation and help
safeguard global growth and supply-chain stability.
