China’s Ministry of Education said national vocational education funding rose
23.3% during the 14th Five-Year Plan to 757.0 bln yuan. Secondary vocational
education provides annually about 5.0 mln junior‑high graduates with
upper‑secondary places; higher vocational education gives nearly 6.0 mln
age‑eligible youths annual access to tertiary education. Almost 3.0 mln families
each year gain a first‑generation college student via vocational routes. Funding
is government‑led with multi‑channel financing.
