Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman BAGHAEI said Iran and Russia held consultations
on various issues, including nuclear matters, during which Tehran set out its
position and presented a seven-day proposal. He said the meeting, held before an
apparently planned Putin–Trump call, was primarily a clarification of Iran’s
stance; technically Pakistan and Qatar continue to act as intermediaries between
Iran and the United States.
