UK Prime Minister Burnham told the House of Commons the UK assessment is that a
recent alleged plot against a Royal Air Force base used by US forces was very
likely coordinated from Iran and almost certainly directed by Iran’s Islamic
Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). He said the government will use all available
powers to disrupt Iran-linked criminal networks and target their funding.
Several men were arrested last month on suspicion of plotting an attack on RAF
Fairford in Gloucestershire; they remain under police investigation.
