DeepSeek, a developer of large AI models, is set to complete a new financing
round of about 100 billion yuan, sources familiar with the deal said. The
planned raise doubled from an earlier 50 billion yuan within roughly two weeks;
this is DeepSeek’s second funding round. Existing and new investors are each
expected to provide roughly half of the capital. Pre-money valuation remains
around 500 billion yuan. New entrants are mainly strategic industry investors,
including Shixi Capital, Zhongxin Juyuan, CPE Yuanfeng, Junlian Capital and
Geely.
