In the first eight months of 2026, Chinese automakers sold approximately 386,000 hybrid electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles in the EU, accounting for about 12% of the region's hybrid market. This includes European brands owned by Chinese companies, such as Volvo and Polestar. Excluding these brands, the total sales volume was approximately 285,000 vehicles, equivalent to a 9% market share.
