China stocks initially tracked weaker offshore markets, with ChiNext down over 3%, the Shenzhen Composite down over 2% and the Shanghai Composite down over 1% intraday. Ahead of the midday close all major indices sharply recovered and trimmed losses. At midday the Shanghai Composite was down 0.27%, the Shenzhen Composite down 0.78% and ChiNext down 0.95%. Several ETFs registered heavy half‑day turnover, signaling capital inflows: E Fund ChiNext ETF half‑day turnover c.5.7 bln yuan (yesterday full day c.4.8 bln); Hua Xia SSE STAR 50 ETF half‑day turnover >5.0 bln yuan (yesterday full day 2.8 bln yuan, above yesterday’s full‑day 2.668 bln.
