Beijing, Oct 13 — At a routine foreign ministry briefing, China responded to the US
comments on Beijing’s recent countermeasures against Paraguay and Belize, saying
the One‑China principle and the three China‑U.S. joint communiqués are the
political basis of bilateral relations. China urged the US to adhere to the
One‑China principle, handle the Taiwan issue cautiously and stop sending wrong
signals to 'Taiwan independence' separatists.
