At the IMF annual meetings in Bangkok, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said when asked whether Egypt might provide military assistance to Saudi Arabia: “Whatever the Saudis request, we will of course respond.” He added Egypt is “providing all forms of support without reservation” and is “seriously considering” joining a regional Mecca Defense Agreement.
