AIVA, the ByteDance–Saidou joint brand, is planning its second model as an SUV
and is considering a battery-swap option, sources said. Whether it will adopt
CATL’s Chocolate battery-swap solution has not been decided. CATL’s Chocolate
swap network had built over 2,520 stations nationwide by Sep 29, covering 31
provinces and 200 cities, and has deployed nearly 20,000 new CATL batteries into
swap inventories. Saidou Technology is backed by state capital, SERES, CATL and
other industrial investors; it was formerly Chongqing Landian Technology and was
renamed at end-May.
