Russia's foreign ministry said on Oct. 13 that spokeswoman Zakharova, commenting
on the detention of a Japanese journalist in Russia on suspicion of espionage,
warned the incident will further cast a shadow over bilateral ties and again
urged Japanese authorities to "wake up, change course" and abandon hostile
actions toward Russia.
