The U.S. Consulate in Saudi Arabia issued a security alert on October 13, stating that due to recent air attacks on Saudi airports, U.S. government personnel and their families in Saudi Arabia must obtain special authorization from the U.S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia to use any airport. U.S. citizens should be aware that Saudi airports may face further attacks, as well as flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions.
