BOT Deputy Governor Piti Disyatat said at IMF and World Bank meetings in Bangkok
the central bank is unlikely to cut policy rates below the current 1% unless hit
by a major economic shock. As monetary policy gradually normalizes, borrowing
costs are expected to rise and could reach about 1.5–2%. He said Thailand's
policy stance remains accomodative versus many peers because growth is below
potential and inflation are relatively mild.
