The People's Bank of China reported that at the end of September, total deposits in both domestic and foreign currencies reached RMB 357.52 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 7.6%. Total RMB deposits reached RMB 349.45 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 7.5%. Total loans in both domestic and foreign currencies reached RMB 287.29 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%. Total RMB loans reached RMB 283.44 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%.

The bank disclosed the payment as a separate special charge in its third-quarter results, saying it reduced diluted EPS by about $1. Goldman helped wealthy clients invest in SpaceX more than five years ago; SpaceX listed earlier this year at a $1.77tln valuation, producing large client gains and leaving Goldman with hundreds of millions of dollars in related revenue. CEO David Solomon signaled in September the bank might use the windfall to accelerate philanthropy for tax efficiency.
