Markets continued to reduce bets on a Federal Reserve rate hike in October during Asian trading on Thursday. Data showed the probability of a Fed rate hike in October fell to about 27%, a significant decrease from yesterday's US September CPI report, but still higher than the 22% probability before the CPI release. Several Fed officials had previously indicated they were in no hurry to act in October.

PBOC Shanghai: At end-September total deposits (RMB and FX) in Shanghai were 25.92 tln yuan, up 8.7% YoY. RMB deposits 24.56 tln yuan, up 9%. Foreign-currency deposits $201.1 bln, up 10.3% YoY. Total loans 13.66 tln yuan, up 5.9%; RMB loans 12.98 tln yuan, up 5.6%. Foreign-currency loans $100.2 bln, up 19.3% YoY. Through Q3, foreign-currency deposits rose $16.7 bln YTD, $3.8 bln less than a year earlier. In September foreign-currency deposits fell $4.4 bln, a decline $7.8 bln larger than the year-ago monthly change.
