MOFCOM said on the 15th that data compiled with relevant departments for the 2025 foreign investment information annual report show 461,000 foreign-invested enterprises filed annual reports, up 5.7% YoY. Stock of FDI equity stood at 26.8 tln yuan, marking six consecutive years of growth and ranking second globally. Reporting foreign firms posted an average profit margin of 8.7%; foreign manufacturing firms’ margins exceed national industrial firms above-designated-size by 2.2 ppt. Foreign-invested enterprises account for one-third of China’s goods imports and exports, contribute one-seventh of tax revenue, and have on average absorbed more than 30 mln jobs per year over the past five years.
