At a routine briefing, China’s foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning declined
to confirm a Bloomberg report that Beijing had agreed to partially restructure
Zimbabwe’s debt. She said China attaches great importance to Zimbabwe’s
debt‑resolution requests, that relevant Chinese departments and financial
institutions are in contact, and that inquiries on specific progress should be
directed to the competent Chinese authorities.
