Suspected drone strikes in the Black Sea are rising. Romania said a second
merchant caught vessel fire within 12 hours near its territorial waters. A San
Marino‑flagged chemical tanker about 14 nm off Sulina on the Romania–Ukraine
border requested emergency assistance; the Romanian navy said the blaze may have
been caused by a drone and reported eight of the 12 crew missing. Earlier, a
Comoros‑flagged ship also caught fire late on Wednesday inside Romanian waters.
Romanian authorities are investigating whether the incidents were caused by
drone strikes.
