The UK government on the 15th announced a £17 mln (about $22.54 mln) grant to support repairs at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant to restore sealing and ventilation of reactor buildings. HM Treasury and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said the funding will back an international program coordinated by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
