In an interview aired Oct. 15, U.S. President Trump said he would not use
nuclear weapons in any action against Iran, saying we do not need that and that
the so‑called "Mother of All Bombs" is not a nuclear weapon. He said he does not
expect to deploy ground forces to Iran but may have to strike Pickaxe Mountain.
Multiple U.S. media reported the White House and Pentagon have drawn up plans
that could use the GBU‑43/B (MOAB) large conventional air‑blast bomb against
Iranian military targets; the weapon is among the U.S. military's most powerful
non‑nuclear munitions.
