Gyeonggi Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters reported that a fire at a metal-parts coating factory in Bucheon on the 16th local time injured seven people, five of them firefighters. The blaze began at about 08:38; flammable liquids were stored on site. Around 80 firefighters and 38 fire units were deployed and the fire was brought under control by 10:22. Of the five firefighters injured, two are in serious condition and were taken to hospital for emergency treatment. Two factory employees suffered burns.

The carrier departed its San Diego homeport in September and is expected to deploy to the Middle East; the stop at Yokosuka was reportedly a brief call for resupply and crew rest. It is the first port call at Yokosuka by a carrier not homeported there since 2022.
