Iranian military spokesman Akraminia stated that Iran's military control over the Persian Gulf is divided between the Revolutionary Guard and the regular navy. The Revolutionary Guard is responsible for operations in the western waters of the Strait of Hormuz, while the regular navy is responsible for the eastern waters of the strait and the waters extending into the northern Indian Ocean.
