Researchers announced a proof of the three-dimensional Ghys conjecture, a math
problem unsolved for more than 30 years. A team led by visiting scholar and
Greater Bay Area University professor Xu Disheng used human–AI collaboration
with Shusheng Science’s S2 multimodal large model to generate the proof. A
Peking University team led by professor Dong Bin and Academician Liu Ruochuan
completed formal verification using the SHEAF framework. Shanghai Artificial
Intelligence Laboratory says this is the first time Chinese scientists have used
a domestic large model to solve a world-class mathematical problem.
