The Russian Defense Ministry said on the 17th that over the previous day Russian
forces seized eight populated localities in Kharkiv and other areas and struck
Ukrainian transport infrastructure, UAV storage sites and temporary deployment
points. It said air defenses shot down 654 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones and one
HIMARS rocket; the Black Sea Fleet destroyed one Ukrainian naval drone in the
Black Sea. The Ukrainian General Staff said on the 17th that its air force,
missile troops and artillery struck Russian troop concentrations and drone
command posts, destroying one tank, two armored vehicles and 1,396 drones.
