He said US forces have coordinated protection enabling thousands of vessels to transit and estimated roughly 97% of ships attempting to pass were not struck by Iranian projectiles. Hawkins added the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ actions are unjustified and have not succeeded in closing the strait; shipping continues to transit.
