On October 16, 2026, the proportion of A-share stocks with a turnover rate below 3% rose to 72.09%, remaining near this high level after hitting a new high since September 2024 last week; the proportion of stocks with a turnover rate above 5% fell to 13.68%, remaining below this level after dropping below the 17% reference threshold at the end of August. Overall, market trading activity has declined somewhat.

In September, goods trade was 5.163 tln yuan, +27.5% YoY and 7.7 ppt faster than August; exports 3.034 tln yuan, +29.6%; imports 2.128 tln yuan, +24.6%.
