Thailand will raise the consumption tax on fully built imported electric vehicles to at least 30%, effective Jan. 1, 2027, a finance ministry source told The Nation. The proposal targets EVs imported as complete vehicles that do not use locally produced components and is expected to be submitted to cabinet within two weeks.
