Washington Post–ABC News–Ipsos polling shows U.S. President Trump’s approval at
33% and disapproval at 66%, with 52% saying they strongly disapproved, two weeks
ahead of the midterm vote. Approval is down 8 percentage points YoY and is the
lowest level of his first term. The poll finds Democrats have a net advantage on
who voters trust to manage the economy for the first time in more than a decade.
Voters cited rising inflation and expressed deep concern over Trump’s decision
to wage war on Iran; many reports bearing the conflict’s economic impact, notably
higher gasoline costs hitting household finances.
