U.S. Embassy in the United Arab Emirates issued a security alert warning U.S.
citizens to remain highly vigilant amid a complex security environment in the
Middle East and that flight cancellations, airspace closures and travel
disruptions are possible. The embassy said Iran-backed Houthi militants in Yemen
have carried out attacks on Saudi targets, including civilian airports and other
critical infrastructure, causing civilian casualties and major transport
disruption. The embassy warned hostile actions could rapidly escalate and spread
beyond the region and urged travelers to monitor airport and airline operations
and to prepare contingency plans.
