China's National Bureau of Statistics said the recent price rebound has had a
positive effect on corporate profitability. Profits of industrial enterprises
above designated size rose 15.7% YoY in the first eight months; the number of
industries reporting profit growth increased by six versus last year. The NBS
warned some sectors still face operating difficulties. Relevant departments are
measures to stabilize growth, expand domestic demand and ease
corporate distress, and said policy effects are expected to materialize
gradually.
