On Oct 19 Li Auto CEO Li Xiang said automakers conducting deep research into core battery technology is beneficial for industry development and consumer interests. He said the sector needs both specialist suppliers and OEMs researching core technologies, with collaborative innovation ultimately benefiting users. Li Auto decided in 2020 to develop batteries in-house to align vehicle and customer needs and advance technology with specialist partners. Li Auto will hold a "PowerDay" electric-technology presentation at 19:30 on Oct 20 to share its latest technical progress.
