According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean government will collaborate with SK Hynix to provide 2 trillion won in guarantees to semiconductor materials, components, and equipment companies. This move aims to extend the industry boom benefits enjoyed by large semiconductor companies to related small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies. Specifically, when semiconductor materials, components, and equipment companies apply for loans from financial institutions, the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation will provide guarantees, thereby lowering the financing threshold for these companies. Companies recommended by SK Hynix will also be able to obtain higher loan amounts and preferential interest rates, with reductions of up to 2.5 percentage points. Furthermore, the guarantee fees borne by companies during the loan process will be reduced, and the guarantee period will be extended from one year to three years.
