U.S. corn futures fell for a sixth straight session, the longest run since March 2025, as harvest-related supply increases and weak exports prompt hedge funds to rapidly liquidate positions. The front-month contract on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) slid as much as 0.5% to its lowest since Aug. 12. Weekly U.S. corn export inspections dropped about 50% week-on-week to 672,500 tonnes. Year-to-date U.S. corn cumulative sales are down 2.3% YoY. The USDA Crop Progress report shows 44% of the corn crop harvested, reinforcing supply-side pressure on prices.
